My grandfather gave me this ear.
My mother gave me this voice.
The words and the concepts come from something much larger than me.
My purpose is to facilitate the shift in consciousness…
I am an artist.
And Music is my medium.
Each piece is either a reminder, or a guide.
Either way, you’ll find what you need within the frequency.
Most of the time, the music comes effortlessly.
I’ll be in that space between sleep and awake, or in the shower, or driving silently across the country.
That’s when it comes.
Sometimes it begins with the melody, and the words materialize from there..
Sometimes the lyrics whisper first – they come in bits and phrases… and then later, I have to piece it together.
Sometimes when I write, the emotion is so vivid… I can grab my guitar, sit down, and write something in about 5 minutes.
Sometimes when I write, the wound is so deep… that when I sit down, before I even make a sound, I have to estimate how much pain I want to endure each time I sing the song.
Sometimes when I write, it’s a form of empathy. I want someone else to know that I’m trying to understand what they’re feeling.
Sometimes when I write, I don’t remember writing at all. But when it comes together I realize that I was answering a call.
And sometimes when I write… I’ve got something important to say. And I want to make sure you hear me VERY clearly before I walk away.
So I formulate my phrases very carefully.
To transform the abstract into words and melody.
I want to keep myself in rhythm.
But break through space and time.
I want to change the world….
By changing people’s minds.
